Kangaroo Robot

Kangaroo Robot#

Kangaroo is a bipedal research platform for exploring advanced control methods for locomotion, manipulation and whole body control. The robot is human size and its lightweight design with low moving inertia in the legs, make it suitable for highly dynamic motion such as jumping and running. Each leg has 6 degrees of freedom, and a hanging leg mass of only 6.5 kg thanks to the placement of all actuators close to the torso — allowing for impact resilience and reduced energy consumption during locomotion.
